This past weekend, we ventured to Camp Buc for our spring retreat. The weather was perfect. The mountains were beautiful. We couldn’t have asked for more.

We began the weekend with games on Friday night. On Saturday, we explored our theme, “Living Lives that Matter,” with devotional times throughout the day. Some of us also went hiking for several hours in the afternoon. This is a picture of some of us on top of a mountain during the hike. We ended the day with a campfire and a movie.

On Sunday, we worshiped together in the outdoor chapel. As we left for home, some of us took a detour and hiked up Whiteside Mountain. It was a great weekend filled with meaningful conversation, good food, and plenty of time to relax.

Rockface/BucEven though it rained all day on Saturday, we had a great time this weekend at Camp Buc on our Spring Retreat. Everyone loves Buc. It’s such a beautiful setting for a retreat. We spent time working on community and sharing our faith stories with each other. The schedule for Saturday changed up a little bit when the conversation that was supposed to happen over breakfast lasted all day long. In the end, we all knew each others’ stories much better and our community was a little bit stronger.

Some of us insisted on hiking up to “Rockface” on Saturday. This is a picture that I stole from Hayley’s facebook page of some of us on top of the mountain. The fog was heavy as we hiked up. At the moment that we arrived on top of the mountain, the fog cleared and the rain stopped. As the fog rose from the valley below, we could see camp. It was really cool.

We also had a campfire, ate s’mores, sang songs, watched Wall-E, and hiked up Whiteside Mountain on Sunday. All in all, it was a great weekend.

The retreat was fun, but the weather was…interesting. We hiked up the mountain on Saturday and stumbled upon Narnia–at least that’s what everyone told me. It reminded me of Sleepy Hollow.

Anyway, it was beautiful in the mountains. We did some work on personality, spirituality, etc. We ate well. We had a campfire. We sang. We worshipped at the outdoor chapel. We played cards. We rested. And we played Guitar Hero.

This is a picture of Mark and Brent throwing the frisbee just before we left. The weather was nice on Sunday (wish we could have stayed longer).
