Our first gathering of the fall semester will be on Sunday, August 16. Dinner is at 6:15p and worship is at 7p. We will be baptizing Aron on this day–it’s been a long time coming and we’re all excited to finally be able to support Aron as he makes this important step on his journey of faith.

Also on that day, our new student ministers and intern will get the hang of their new jobs. We will have just returned from the leadership retreat (Aug. 12-14).

Our kickoff will be the following Sunday, August 23. Again, dinner will be at 6:15p and worship will be at 7p. Invite your friends.

Recently, we had a donation of some prints signed by an Augusta artist named Keith Johnson. The artwork is beautiful.The two color prints, entitled Provider and Forgiven Much, are hanging in the Community Group Room. I find Forgiven Much to be especially compelling. The look on Mary Magdalene’s face as she washes Jesus’ feet with her tears is stunning.

The other two prints, which will hang in the Living Room near the ping pong tables, are entitled Trinity and He Rises With Healing In His Wings. These two prints needs to be studied closely for the symbolism to be recognized. Come by and take a look at them. [posted by Andy]

Most of the students are gone for the summer and some of our students are working at camps, etc. This is a picture that Hayley sent from a staff training event for Camp Fellowship, a PCUSA camp operated by Trinity Presbytery. Hayley is one of the co-directors this year. Apparently, gator-wrestling is part of the job. I like how they taped his jaws…a portent of things to come in Jacksonville in late October?
