Even though it rained all day on Saturday, we had a great time this weekend at Camp Buc on our Spring Retreat. Everyone loves Buc. It’s such a beautiful setting for a retreat. We spent time working on community and sharing our faith stories with each other. The schedule for Saturday changed up a little bit when the conversation that was supposed to happen over breakfast lasted all day long. In the end, we all knew each others’ stories much better and our community was a little bit stronger.
Some of us insisted on hiking up to “Rockface” on Saturday. This is a picture that I stole from Hayley’s facebook page of some of us on top of the mountain. The fog was heavy as we hiked up. At the moment that we arrived on top of the mountain, the fog cleared and the rain stopped. As the fog rose from the valley below, we could see camp. It was really cool.
We also had a campfire, ate s’mores, sang songs, watched Wall-E, and hiked up Whiteside Mountain on Sunday. All in all, it was a great weekend.
We had a great time at the exhibit on Tuesday night. I always enjoy seeing students, board members, local Presbyterians, ministers, and alums getting to know each other. It’s the only thing that we do that gets all of those people together in the same room. The soup dinner beforehand was a great success too. We raised nearly $100 for the UGA Relay for Life. Thanks for Becky, Meaghan, Brent, Mitch, and Hayley for making soup. This is as pic of Betsy, Adam, Beth, and Tyler enjoying some coffee and dessert during the exhibit.
