Join us for dinner and worship this Sunday. As with every Sunday, a free dinner is served at 6:15p. After dinner, we will worship in the Chapel at 7p. Worship services at the Presbyterian Student Center always include communion. After worship, you are welcome to stay around for dessert and fellowship. We hope to see you on Sunday!
80’s Interfaith Dance Party
At the Montreat College Conference earlier this month, we explored the idea of interfaith understanding and its importance for our Christian faith. As a result, some of the students decided to host an 80’s Interfaith Dance Party at the PSC. We invited every religious group that we could find on campus. In the end, we had some Lutherans, Baptists, and a Bahai show up. Moreover, we started a dialogue with several other groups that were not able to attend, but who appreciated what we were doing.
As ridiculous as it is to join together with people of other faiths to dance to “Thriller,” I think that the world would be a better place if this was a regular occurrence. Maybe Jerusalem could use an Interfaith Dance Party…
Dawgs for Haiti
Near 100 student organizations at the University of Georgia have joined together to form Dawgs for Haiti, an organization dedicated to mobilizing students to help in the relief efforts following the devastating earthquake in Haiti on Jan. 12.
Currently, Dawgs for Haiti is raising funds online and through the sale of tee shirts. These funds will be split between Doctors Without Borders and the Red Cross. Tee shirts are on sale in Tate plaza–check the Facebook group for details.
Our prayers are with the people of Haiti and those who are working to bring relief. All are welcome to join us in worship on Sunday as we pray together. Also, our Chapel is open from 9a-5p during the week for prayer and ministry staff is always here during that time to pray with you.
In the wake of this tragedy, we believe that God is calling out to us from Haiti. Join us as we answer that call as a community of faith while seeking the Kingdom of God for the people of Haiti.
